Day 2 - Monday
  • WTF! No wonder no one likes Mondays
  • About 1:00a Rick's tent collapses from wind gusts and the rain is very cold putting it back up
  • Shine light at Laurie's tent and remind her that the storm's not just a brewin' but it's a happenin'
  • Fall back asleep by 2:00a
  • Sheriff is evacuating campground as weather turns very, very bad
  • High school here we come
  • Welcome to the post apocalyptic world
  • Bodies laying everywhere - why don't we have a cooler of booze? Steve has a flask
  • Mike and Dave want sleep - Rick, Laurie, Steve and Chris want fun
  • "Only registered riders are allowed to be saved"
  • About 3:30a go to van, but where's Dave and Mike
  • We'll sleep in here until they return
  • At 5:00a the cops sound the all-clear
  • Trees down all over the camp site and Chris' tent is toast
  • Nothing of ours blows away
  • One speaker is filled with water but it still works
  • Ride on a few hours of sleep up alternate route
  • Dave and Laurie go to find a Pure Joy breakfast
  • Johnetta Law doesn't like us on the alternate route
  • She hates HARD even more - maybe she was mad she wasn't invited to a roadside party of vodka cranberry drinks
  • Breakfast buffet in Sanborn where we run into Die Hards
  • A couple beers and we're back on the road
  • Melvin like to play that fuckin' Strokin' song - Dave and Laurie are in pure hell
  • Rain comes and goes
  • Neither rainy days nor Mondays are going to get us down
  • Awesome bathroom in the bank
  • All Entringers ride middle third and all South High teachers sag
  • In Milford Mike gets bike fixed and Rick switch hits to his Trek
  • Run into bassist Brad during air conditioned lunch - get that helmet off
  • It's getting really humid and hot
  • Rick decided to hammer the last 21 miles to beat the heat
  • Didn't need to that as Mother Nature did a 15-20 degree drop - sounds and looks like hail
  • By the time Rick gets into Esterville it starts to pour
  • The welcoming committee may not know exactly where our overnight house is but they have a tent that keeps Rick dry
  • How hard is it to find the Sindt's house when riding through solid water?
  • They are a great host family that even set up a camper fully loaded for us
  • Rick told them the rest of the team would be there in an hour - oh how wrong was he
  • After two hours Laurie and Mike arrive with the bikes but without the other three guys
  • Tsk, tsk Steve, you've been a very bad boy - one night in the hole for you
  • Laurie takes a trip back to Milford for Dave and Chris
  • They all get in later that evening, but Laurie and Dave are off to Northwood to pick up Sandy
  • Those that remain kick back, eat Sloppy Joes, have a beer and watch Letterman until sleepy time overtakes them all.
