Day 4
Wednesday
- Ray is up early and heads out
- Other Natonal Guard people show up and do stuff...we'd better get going
- Dave rides for second and last time...bike is definitely a swirly item
- Breakfast in Hamlin...big breakfast and low prices! 80 cent tap beer
- Chickenman shows up and the Chickenmobile has dropped its transmission
- Highway 44 has some big hills but it's not bad
- Laurie and Barb think its really easy...in a van
- Watch out for Matty the matted-hair dog with giant goiter
- Marsha Traeger zips by on her new bike...a Toyota Camary
- There's a lotta pasta in Guthrie Center
- Cheap tapes too...Hello 70's AM gold
- Many beers under the big tent
- Bud bus mentions us twice...don't they know we hate them
- Skalberg shows up, we must be lagging
- Nice ride to Springbrook State Park until that mother fucking hill
- Great corn in Yale...must eat as many ears as possible
- City Girl can only handle one...and it was her first time
- Heidi, Steve and City Girl buy tons of beer tickets...don't want to get too filled-up before we get to Dawson's Creek
- We should have had more in Yale or at least packed some to go...there is nothing in Dawson
- We drink the town dry in about 5 minutes (2 Bud Light longnecks)
- At least we cut 9 miles off the route
- Things people get to hear from my stereo as we enter Perry ("I yearn for you to plunder me sexually" and Uncle Fucker)
- Find host house and for the second time this week the host, Kevin, is toasted
- Share the house with Mystery Machine and Die Hards
- Ray leaves the team...we ride a little to late for him
- Babs cooks out burgers and brats
- Neo-nazi has taken over control of the house...his name is not on the mailbox
- Shower has ability to cut steel
- Barb, Dave and Laurie are drinking scotch...a lot of scotch...a shitload of scotch...enough scotch to kill a medium sized horse
- Laurie and I go and drink with some of the Die Hards (Gary, Abby, Merilee, Sandra and Krystal)
- Laurie leaves to tinkle is replaced by City Girl
- We drink way into the wee hours of the morning
