Recap 98 - Part II
Monday--Cherokee to Rockwell City
Way to hung to ride and it's Africa hot again. Others depart and we crack open a few cold ones in the driveway before going into town for breakfast. No breakfast after 11:00, but you can get an egg sandwich and fries. Close enough. Heidi, Aaron, Jana and I enjoy the warm feast. At the midway town Bryan is having bike trauma so he and Laurie join the sag. We get to the house we're staying at but it's locked. Laurie and I go to find the owner. "I have keys but they are way down at my car." She is scared of us. Looks like cool showers on the street. Steve and Heidi get lost but are rescued by Team Dennis. Use the "Talk-a-bouts" to guide them in. We see that Team Dennis is a lot like us, except they have a bus. We need a bus. The team goes into town together and ends up at the Team Dennis bus. We always find the drinkers. I almost remember going to tent.

Tuesday--Rockwell City to Boone (not for Rick)
Not too bad of a day. Meet up with Mr. and Mrs. John White and Stephanie in Gowrie. I want her earrings. Nothing to trade...yet. Then the rains come. Oh yeah, this is enjoyable. Moist and cold I make it to Paton. Bryan rides in bus with Team Dennis to Paton. Bastard! First Arva sighting and she stickers my meow meow with her lips. Spend a lot of time in the beer garden. See Ricki again, this time with a shirt on. Use somebody else's Talk-a-bout to call Damian. Get a Bloody Mary down my shorts thanks to Arva. Meet up with John (Team Die Hard) outside of Pilot Mound (Milot Pound?). Get cool sticker on bike. Drink many many beers with B.A.R.T., Die Hard, Hanson Brothers, CO2 and Bad Boy. Start having good conversations with Jana. Cool band is playing atop their bus. Big stalk of ditch weed is making its way through the crowd. Become an honorary Hanson Brother. Get into a "hockey fight" and get thrown out of the game. Tackle Arva and she kicks my ass. Fizzlers are being forced down my throat by the bucket. Take a little nap on the band's bus floor. Wake up dazed. Find Jana and she escorts me to the house they're staying at. Shower and put on same clothes. Put up Jana's very small tent. It rains again. Not too bad of a day at all.
